Quantum Systems unveiled its new unmanned ground vehicle MANDRILL during Enforce Tac 2026, marking the company’s entry into the ground robotics sector and expanding its portfolio in the field of autonomous systems.

According to a report by the website Defence Blog, the company presented the platform as part of a broader effort to integrate autonomous aerial and ground systems within a shared operational architecture designed for networked military environments.

MANDRILL arrives as the operational demand for interoperable unmanned platforms capable of carrying out multiple missions without relying on standalone systems continues to grow among armed forces and law enforcement agencies worldwide.

According to the company, the vehicle was not designed as an independent platform, but rather as a component of a broader, multidimensional robotics ecosystem that connects unmanned aerial and ground assets.

Its modular platform allows rapid configuration for different mission profiles, including intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) missions using electro-optical and infrared sensor payloads, logistics and engineering support, medical evacuation tasks, towing and recovery operations, electronic warfare applications, and the integration of robotic systems for drone launch and recovery.

Meanwhile, the native integration of MANDRILL into Quantum SystemsMOSAIC UXS environment enables the platform to operate alongside existing and future unmanned systems across multiple domains, with maritime integration planned for later stages of development.

“With MANDRILL, we are laying the foundation for a powerful and scalable family of systems in the ground domain,” said Hendrik Kramer, Head of the Ground Robotics Domain at Quantum Systems, in a statement.

“Our goal is not to develop a single vehicle, but to create a modular, networked ecosystem that can be flexibly adapted to the requirements of modern deployment scenarios. MANDRILL is a robust and modular platform that is consistently designed for further development.”

Martin Karkour, Chief Revenue Officer at Quantum Systems, added that “the future of unmanned systems does not lie in isolated platforms, but in intelligent, networked alliances.”

“The combination of proven UAV technologies and new ground robotics platforms opens up entirely new operational possibilities—from sensor-based aerial target reconnaissance to autonomous ground support.”
